How we treat each other

Community Guidelines

v1.0.1Effective

Chimesong's public feed is a room where strangers describe hard days, ordinary days, and shining days out loud. It works because the room is kind. These are the five things we ask, plus what happens when someone forgets.

The five

1. No attacks on who someone is.

Race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, immigration status, body — none of these are up for attack. You can absolutely disagree with someone's actions or ideas; you can't dehumanise them. If your comment reads like an insult aimed at what someone is rather than what they did, rewrite it.

Fine: "That decision sounds risky to me." Not fine: "Only [group] would think that."

2. Nothing sexual involving anyone under 18. Ever.

No romantic or sexual descriptions of minors. No coy framing. This is a bright line.

Adult sexual content between adults is not the vibe here either — Chimesong is a reflection app, not that kind of platform. Keep it PG-13.

3. Protect real people's privacy.

Your own life is yours to share. Other people's isn't. Please don't post:

  • Someone's full name plus their workplace or home address.
  • Photos or descriptions that identify a specific private individual without their consent.
  • Screenshots of private conversations with real names visible.

You can talk about your day even if other people were in it — just don't dox them into it.

4. Please don't advertise.

No affiliate links, no "check out my newsletter," no crypto pitches, no anything that reads like marketing. Chimesong is a small warm room, not a marketplace. If you're excited about something you built, the About page has my email — I'd love to hear about it directly.

5. Nothing that celebrates real-world harm.

Don't post content that encourages violence, self-harm, illegal activity that hurts others, or the harm of animals. Descriptions of your own hard experiences — including grief and mental health struggle — are welcome. If it looks like you're in crisis right now, we route to /safety instead of scoring; that's a feature, not a punishment.

What happens when rules break

We use a light-touch ladder. Nothing here is punitive — it's about keeping the room kind.

  • Warning. For a first accidental brush with a rule, you get a note that explains what happened and points to this page. Your post might get hidden but your account is fine.
  • Hidden post. Content that crosses a moderation boundary can be hidden from the Feed. Available reasons and appeal options appear in the application. Automatic delivery of a statement-of-reasons email is not established by this release.
  • Suspend. Repeated or serious violations get you a temporary time-out from the public feed. You can still journal privately.
  • Ban. For content that endangers others (rules 1, 2, 5 at their worst) or repeated abuse of the appeal system, we close the account and delete its content.

Bans are the last resort. Almost every case ends at the warning or hidden-post step.

Appealing

If a post got hidden and you think it should not have, use an available in-app appeal or write to klarkkrampus@gmail.com with a link to the post. A human review process and response handling must be operationally confirmed before public launch.

I get things wrong sometimes. Please tell me when I do, kindly.

The room stays fun

The moderation exists to protect the room, not to police feelings. You can be sad here. You can be angry. You can swear. You can describe a bad day in vivid detail. The AI won't score crisis content — it'll route you to real help — but that isn't a rule you can break, it's a floor of care.

If the app ever feels like a chore, that's a bug — please tell me. Chimesong is meant to be somewhere you want to come back to.
